Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

AUSTEROM believes the web should be usable by everyone, regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology. We work to ensure this site is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for the widest possible audience, including visitors who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice input, screen magnifiers, or other assistive tools.

Conformance standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard referenced by U.S. courts interpreting Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

This site has not been independently audited or certified. We treat accessibility as an ongoing effort and update this statement as the site evolves.

Measures we take

• Designing with sufficient color contrast between text and background.
• Using semantic HTML (headings, landmarks, lists, buttons, links) so assistive technology can navigate the page.
• Providing descriptive alternative text for meaningful images and marking decorative images as such.
• Ensuring interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard.
• Labeling form fields and providing clear error messages.
• Testing with modern browsers and common assistive technologies during development.
• Reviewing new content and features for accessibility before publishing.

Accessibility features

• Consistent page structure with a single main heading and clear section headings.
• Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context.
• Visible focus indicators for keyboard users.
• Responsive layout that adapts to zoom, small screens, and screen orientation.
• Support for browser and OS-level text sizing and color preferences.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

• Embedded media. The Spotify podcast player and any embedded YouTube videos are third-party components whose accessibility we do not fully control. Podcast transcripts are not currently provided for every episode.
• Subtle animations. The site uses light motion for transitions. Users who prefer reduced motion should have those preferences respected via browser and OS settings; if you notice motion that is not being reduced, please let us know.
• Signature and portrait imagery. These are described with alternative text but may not fully convey visual nuance.

We are actively working to reduce these limitations. If you encounter a barrier that is not listed above, we want to hear about it.

Third-party content

Some content and functionality on this site is provided by third parties, including Google Analytics, Google Sheets (for contact form storage), Spotify (podcast embed), YouTube, and Lovable (hosting platform). AUSTEROM is not responsible for the accessibility of these third-party services, but we choose providers who publicly commit to accessibility and we are happy to help you find an alternative way to access the underlying content on request.

Formal complaints

We aim to resolve accessibility concerns directly and promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, U.S. visitors may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, which enforces the Americans with Disabilities Act.
